Massage is no longer considered a luxury but has become a mainstream method in natural healing and well-being. In fact, many of today's doctors are prescribing various forms of massage therapy to compliment traditional medical treatment for illness, stress relief, injury and pain. In today's fast-paced, hectic and stress-filled world, it is one of the most effective ways to reduce and ease the tensions of daily life.

Massage

The Body Kneads Massage

A Personalized massage experience combining several massage techniques that focus on your specific needs. Your therapist can help you decide what your "Body Kneads".

Swedish

During traditional Swedish massage, the muscles are stroked and kneaded to encourage them to relax, to release toxins, and to improve circulation. Sometimes a heavy pressure is necessary to get muscles to release and relax.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage uses slow strokes and deep pressure across the grain of the tense muscles. It is applied with more pressure and to deeper layers of muscle than Swedish massage. There is evidence that deep tissue massage helps break up and eliminate scar tissue.

Reflexology

Reflexology follows the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every organ, gland or muscular/skeletal part of the body. Gentle pressure is applied to these reflex points in order to help promote normalization of body functions. .Reflexology treats the body holistically and can be considered as a very useful complementary therapy.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is used primarily for the serious athlete who trains continuously. It focuses on the muscles relevant to the particular athletic activity. A pre- or post-workout massage stimulates muscle mass, improves circulation, and increases power and flexibility through stretching.

Pregnancy Massage

Whether you're experiencing first-trimester morning sickness, second-trimester backaches and leg cramps, or third-trimester swelling and sleeplessness, many of the discomforts, aches and pains that accompany the joy of pregnancy can be eased or alleviated with therapeutic bodywork.

At Body Kneads, a number of our licensed massage therapists are highly trained experts at working with pregnant women. They have the experience to provide comfort for you and protection for your baby. So enjoy a relaxing therapeutic massage and the peace of mind that only the quality and compassionate care of one of South Florida 's finest facilities can provide.

As beneficial as it is, pregnancy massage does not replace the need for appropriate medical and/or prenatal care. Talk to your healthcare provider before pursuing massage therapy during your prenatal and postpartum period.

Lymphatic Drainage

A rhythmically structured gentle massage aimed at the lymphatic system to facilitate speedy removal of excess fluids, toxins, accumulated medication residue and other chemicals that are lodged in the body's tissues.

BENEFITS OF LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

  • Helps eliminate swelling and edema following plastic surgery for face lifts, breast augmentation, breast reduction or after a tummy tuck.
  • Relieves fluid congestion
  • May strengthen the immune system
  • Helps the body rid itself of toxins to improves overall well being
  • Works on the nervous system to help reduce blood pressure and thereby reducing stress and improving sleep patterns

Aromatherapy

Because your sense of smell is linked directly to your brain, Aromatherapy immediately affects your mood. Essences from the essential oils of flowers, plants and herbs are blended to create scents that alter stress levels, energy levels and sensuality. Massaging these oils into your skin, adding them to a bath or applying them before a shower intensifies this effect - you will notice the difference in seconds.

Aromatherapy has been around since the time of the Pharaohs, but today the art has been perfected through the blending of oils to amplify their energy. After many years of research, our experts have developed a special selection of these blends, each designed for a specific purpose.

Select from any of these potent blends to be incorporated into your massage:

Relaxation

A soothing blend of ylang ylang, lavender and tangerine, that relaxes both mind and body. Great for unwinding after a stressful day.

Energy

A bracing blend of peppermint, rosemary, and thyme to awaken the body and senses. The perfect scent to "jump start" your day or to relieve the effects of jet lag.

Sensuality

A seductive, fiery blend of ylang ylang, patchouli, and nutmeg that heightens all your senses. Do try this at home!
